Biographical Text
It's possible her surname was Surroot. In July 1746, Jacob Surroot and Stephen Surroot [Indian or Negro] were mustered into Captain James Fanning's Company (of Suffolk County) for a campaign to Albany. This is not a statement of any suggested relationship between Mary and these two men. It simply points out the similarity of surnames for future research.
