Biographical Text

Burnett Miller was a son of Eleazer Miller. For many years he served as Town Clerk of East Hampton. His political activities made him a member of the 4th Provincial Congress, a representative in the State Legislature from 1777 to 1783. With the exception of one year he was supervisor of East Hampton town from 1764 to 1776. (Trustee Records, 1772-1807, p 350.
